FinFraudSIM focuses on the use of simulation environments and synthetic data to recreate and explore financial fraud scenarios within controlled settings. Rather than focusing solely on detection, the project examines how fraud emerges through interactions between users, systems, and contextual factors.
The work integrates AI-driven modelling with a socio-technical perspective to capture both technical and behavioural dimensions of fraud. By simulating realistic financial interactions, the project enables the testing and evaluation of intervention strategies, as well as the study of how different user groups experience and respond to fraud-related risks.
Through this approach, FinFraudSIM contributes to the development of more effective mitigation strategies and supports the design of safer, more resilient financial systems.
