Researchers from BUCSR are co-organising the 12th International Workshop on Evolving Security & Privacy Requirements Engineering (ESPRE 2025)<\/a>. ESPRE is co-located with the 33rd IEEE International Requirements Engineering Conference (RE 2025)<\/a>, which is taking place between 01-05 September 2025, Valencia, Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ESPRE is now celebrating its 12th year. Although the ESPRE workshop has been co-located with RE since 2014, it builds on the success of earlier workshops in security requirements engineering and secure software engineering. ESPRE is a multi-disciplinary one-day workshop that brings together practitioners and researchers interested in security and privacy requirements. ESPRE probes the interfaces between Requirements Engineering and Security & Privacy, and aims to evolve security and privacy requirements engineering to meet the needs of stakeholders; these range from business analysts and security engineers, to technology entrepreneurs and privacy advocates. The theme of this year’s ESPRE workshop will be Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ESPRE will be run as a one-day workshop. The workshop format will consist of an invited talk, paper presentations and discussions, and a facilitated roadmap building session. ESPRE invites Full papers describing a well-defined research project, possibly with an (initial) evaluation – Page limits: 8 pages plus 2 pages only for references. Or, Short papers describing a preliminary research project – Page limits: 5 pages plus 1 page only for references. The submission deadline is by 23:59:59 AoE, Monday, 9 June 2025. The workshop will be held on Monday, 01 September 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
